As of 2025 R3 the XProtect Smart Client is now missing from [http://localhost/installation/](http://localhost/installation/)

> With XProtect 2025 R3, XProtect Smart Client is not included in the VMS installation package and must be downloaded separately. It is still possible to update the [http://localhost/installation/](http://localhost/installation/) page to include this installer if you find it easier to distribute the installer in this way.
Follow from the steps while on the **Milestone XProtect Management Server**.

1. Download the **XProtect Smart Client Installer** from the Milestone Downloads site.
2. Go to this location in file explorer.
3. Type “cmd” in the navigation bar and press enter to start command prompt from this location.
4. Start to type “Milestone” then press tab to auto fill

5. Add “ --ss_registration” and press enter

6. The installer will be processed and registration will be confirmed.

7. The Installation page now shows with the XProtect Smart Client Installer included.
