## Overview
The live player tiles include a transparent video overlay layer that provides real-time controls and status indicators.
The overlay becomes visible when the mouse cursor is over the video.

### PTZ Controls (If Supported)
If the camera supports PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom), directional controls appear over the video.
Available actions include:
- Pan (left / right)
- Tilt (up / down)
- Diagonal movement
- Zoom in / zoom out
- Return to home position
PTZ commands:
- Are executed while the button is held down
- Stop automatically when the button is released
- Are disabled if the live stream is paused

### Bottom Toolbar
A toolbar is displayed at the bottom of the tile while the stream is active.
#### Live Start / Stop
- Allows starting or stopping the live stream
- Displays a play or stop icon depending on state
#### Recording Controls
If supported by the device, recording controls are shown:
- Local Recording
- Records the live stream locally
- Displays REC / IDLE state
- Edge Recording
- Controls recording directly on the device
- Displays recording status in real time
When recording is active:
- A red recording indicator is displayed on the tile

#### PTZ Presets
If PTZ presets are available:
- A preset menu is shown in the toolbar
- Selecting a preset moves the camera to a predefined position
- Presets are disabled while the stream is paused

### Recording Indicator
When local or edge recording is active:
- A persistent recording indicator is shown at the top of the tile
- Provides immediate visual feedback during monitoring
## Interaction Behavior
- Overlay controls do not interfere with grid selection
- Clicking overlay buttons does not trigger tile selection
- All controls are disabled when the tile is paused or locked
- Live overlays are hidden automatically when not in use
## Workflow
A typical operator workflow in Live mode:
1. Assign a camera to a tile
2. Confirm live video starts automatically
3. Hover over the tile to reveal controls
4. Use PTZ controls to reposition the camera (if supported)
5. Enable local or edge recording as needed
6. Select PTZ presets for quick repositioning
7. Open the tile in a popup player for focused monitoring (optional)

## Note: Capability-Dependent Controls
The availability of Live mode controls depends on the connected device:
- PTZ controls appear only for PTZ-capable cameras
- Recording buttons appear only if supported by the device
- Preset menus are shown only when presets are configured
- Streaming technology (WebTransport or HLS) is selected automatically
Unsupported features are hidden to avoid operator confusion.
