## Overview The Live Video Player provides a dedicated popup window for focused, real-time monitoring and control of a single camera stream. It is opened from a view tile and offers enhanced controls compared to inline grid playback, including streaming mode selection, audio control, recording management, PTZ interaction, and device diagnostics. The Live Video Player is optimized for long duration monitoring, operator interaction, and troubleshooting. ![Live Video Player](<Live Video Player.png>) <div class="page-break" style="page-break-before: always;"></div> ## Functionality ### Streaming Mode Selection At the top of the player, operators can select the web streaming mode used for live playback. Supported modes may include: - WebTransport (default) – ultra-low latency streaming - MP4 Fragments – progressive fragmented MP4 playback - LL-HLS – Low-Latency HTTP Live Streaming The available options depend on system configuration and enabled features. Changing the streaming mode restarts the live stream using the selected transport. ![Live Video Player|450](<Live Video Player 1.png>) ### Live Video Display The main video area automatically adapts based on the selected streaming mode: - Video starts automatically when live playback is active - The player supports inline audio (if available) - Playback remains responsive during mode changes When the live stream is paused: - The last captured snapshot is displayed - A semi-transparent overlay visually indicates paused state ### Audio Controls If the camera supports audio: - A speaker icon appears over the video - Audio can be muted or unmuted - Animated indicators show when audio is active If audio is not supported: - The icon reflects the unavailable state Audio state changes apply instantly without restarting the stream. ### PTZ Interaction If the camera supports Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ): #### Virtual Joystick (WebTransport Mode) - An on-screen joystick appears over the video - Allows smooth pan and tilt interaction - Provides real-time directional feedback #### PTZ Presets - Available presets can be selected from the overlay menu - Selecting a preset moves the camera to a predefined position - Presets are disabled when live playback is paused ### Recording Controls The Live Video Player supports recording control directly from the interface. #### Local Recording - Records the live stream locally - Displays REC / IDLE state clearly #### Edge Recording - Controls recording on the camera device itself - Displays real-time recording status When recording is active: - A persistent recording indicator is shown - Visual feedback confirms the active recording state ### Device Status Overlays #### Partial Stats Overlay - Displays key device information inside the video: - Stream quality - Frame rate - Recording state - System health metrics (CPU, RAM, battery, network) ![Live Video Player|400](<Live Video Player 2.png>) #### Full Device Status Window - Opens a scrollable, detailed diagnostics panel - Includes: - Device identity and model - Platform and OS version - Hardware usage - Network signal and uptime - Can be moved independently within the popup window ![Live Video Player|500](<Live Video Player 3.png>) ### Window Controls The Live Video Player includes standard window actions: - Minimize – hides the player window - Maximize / Restore – toggles fullscreen view - Close – closes the live player These controls allow seamless multi-window workflows. ![Live Video Player](<Live Video Player 4.png>) ## Workflow A typical workflow using the Live Video Player: 1. Use PTZ controls or presets (if supported) 6. Enable local or edge recording if required 7. Open device status overlays for diagnostics 8. Close or minimize the player when finished ## Setup and Verification – Example ### Example: Verify Live Streaming and PTZ Control 1. Open Live Video Player - Click a live tile in a view - Confirm the popup player opens 2. Select Streaming Mode - Choose WebTransport - Confirm the stream restarts successfully 3. Verify Audio - Unmute audio - Confirm audio indicators respond correctly 4. Test PTZ - Use the virtual joystick to pan and tilt - Select a PTZ preset and confirm camera movement 5. Enable Recording - Start local or edge recording - Verify the recording indicator appears 6. Check Device Status - Enable the stats overlay - Open the full device status window - Confirm device metrics are displayed This confirms that live streaming, controls, and diagnostics are functioning as expected. ## Note: Capability-Dependent Features The availability of Live Video Player features depends on camera and system capabilities: - Streaming modes depend on backend configuration - Audio controls appear only if audio is supported - PTZ controls and presets require PTZ-capable cameras - Recording options depend on device and system support Unsupported features are automatically hidden to ensure a clean and intuitive operator experience. <div class="page-break" style="page-break-before: always;"></div>
